Hi All,
I've been preparing to apply to Haas and Anderson in round 3. I have two specific questions to ask. First, am I a viable candidate for either in Round 3? Here's my data:
- GMAT 770 (Q50, V44)
- 3.3 in Computer Engineering from top 5 US-university
- 7 years work experience in non-profit sector; 3 years of program management/supervising a small number of direct reports
- Extracurriculars in the same vein as my work life
- White, Male
- Career Goal is to be the ED of a non-profit org
And two, what suggestions do you have specific to a Round 3 application - are there specific things that I'd want to mention/highlight in my essays or the optional essay?
I've heard that it's important to explain why you are applying in Round 3 as opposed to Round 2 but I'm not sure in what space to do that. For me, my interest in b-school is a recent phenomenon. Until this year I hadn't considered the possibility, but through some sound advice and personal investigation, I think b-school is the thing to get me where I want to go in the non-profit world. Since I'll be 7 years out of school by this June, I'd prefer not to wait another year but would love to hear your thoughts.
Best,
B
