Hi Stacy,

Wanted your view on my profile

Above 80% in both 10th and 12th standard
Graduation in commerce - 60% (from India)
MBA (2002 to 2004)- 3.00/4.33 (in Marketing, B+ category Bschool in India)

Post mid 2004 (~4 yrs), i have been working in the research and consulting domain (KPO as its known, knowledge process outrsourcing). Currently, working as a Assistant Manager with a Top MNC.

GMAT - based on my current performance, i think i should score in the range on 700 to 740

Are are Top schools open to 2nd MBA (Sector shift and putting my carrier on the fast track are my key drivers behind this decision)

Would be great, if you could evaluate my profile and give some recommendations to make it stronger

Dear SM:

There are very few schools that will admit someone who already has a MBA degree. I would encourage you to get your transcripts evaluated to determine the US equivalence of your degrees. This will confirm whether or not you already have a MBA in the eyes of the school. As your commerce degree is generally not equivalent to a US bachelor's degree, it is possible that your two degrees combined only equal a US bachelor's degree. Thus making you eligible to apply to any MBA program you wish. There are several services that will do the evaluation, all accessible via the internet.

Based on your academic record, I would say you need to score in the 700s but absolutely above a 650 for your academic profile to be competitive at any top 40 program in the US.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the insight, this is really helpful. I guess US schools look at minimum 16 years of education and if i had my MBA to my commerce degree - it will come to 17 yrs
