Having lost his sight to sustained eyestrain, John Milton nevertheless composed Paradise Lost, considered by many to be the greatest English epic.

A) Having lost his sight to sustained eyestrain
B) With this sight lost to sustained eyestrain
C) Blinded by sustained eyestrain
D) Having been blinded by excessive eyestrain
E) Blinded with sustained eyestrain

Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divine within.

I thought, it's a very interesting question, but looks like there are not many takes of it

Ok let me explaim my doubt:

In the question, I assumed that "Blinded by" is used metaphorically i.e. unable to see/think something very obvious, while the person is not physically blind. For example, "Blinded by lust," "Blinded by his wealth" or "Blinded by love." Hence, I ruled out choices C and E as they are not fitting in the context. However, the OA is C.

The right answer is definitely C.
Blinded should be followed by preposition by, so you have 2 possible answers - C and D. having been blinded is not appropriate in the case as we are speaking about the fact in the past not connected with the present. So eliminate D. C is the best answer.
