Uses of the irrational number e in fields other than pure mathematics are seen in the calculation of continuous compounding in finance, terminal velocity in the field of physics, exponential decay in chemistry, and the constructing of the standard Western twelve-tone scale in music.

I would choose E. I have told that whenever the entire sentence (well almost) is underlined it is parallelism being tested.

A Uses of the number in fields..... are seen in the calculation of...., needs in here."and the constructing" is awkward. So incorrect

B-Similar to A.

C-"are the calculation of" wrong construction. Incorrect

D-"in the calculation of continuous compounding in finance, terminal velocity in the" stop...Incorrect construction, lack of parallelism

E-Aha-Parallel correct

Also i feel "the irrational number needs singular "is"
You can, for example never foretell what any one man will do, but you can say with precision what an average number will be up to!

Hi All,

vinay1983 is correct; this SC is all about parallelism. As an aside to vinay1983's comment, a long prompt with a bunch of commas in it isn't always going to be about Parallelism (sometimes it's going to be about Modification).

Here we have a list of 4 items; only answer E defines all the items in the same Parallel format.
