Will go with A, because, B changes the intended meaning. - "may increase" vs "increases"

imo B is incorrect ...because it changes the meaning.....
B says taking vitamin E increases the risk...while the actual A says that intake may increase the risk....
rest the two sentences look fine gramatically....

or may be some experts can shed some light

but meaning in my weak point, are there any grammer clues ( noun vs gerunds) or something else...

may be intaking is not || with the risk (gerung is not || with noun)

Sorry got confused..edited my post..

Words like may, might, possibly, could, perhaps are words that give the impression of POSSIBILITY. If the ORIGINAL has those kind of words, we can't correct a sentence and change the implication of the original.

A (the original) says that it MAY increase the possibility
B says that not only that it increases but that it "actually increases the possibility" The meaning is quite different.

Since that is really the ONLY difference, then go with A.

Now I always try to keep in mind, (1) fix the grammar, (2) then the meaning/wordiness. Had "A" had a crazy grammar error you would have had no choice to choose B.
