Beaten by VERBAL :(

by sreak1089 » Sat Aug 08, 2009 10:11 am
I took my GMAT today and have been beaten by verbal black and blue.
My score, 570 (Q48, V21).

I have been consistently getting Q45-47, but Verbal has always been a problem. Verbal, I used to get between V25-V35 range. I got V35 on MGMAT couple of weeks back and I thought I am on right track. But verbal has killed me today. Damn it.

Anyway, I will put this behind, will take GMAT again in another 30-45 days.

How was the verbal in the main GMAT?

Tricky? How many long RCs?

I had 4 RC passages, first two were short, remaining two were very long passages. First two passages I think I may have done decently. Second two were really really tough and long as well and on top of it, I was really hard-pressed for time. I was really not able to read the passages completely and I was mostly guessing the answers.

I feel, I did OK on CR and even SC. My gut feel is that I would have lost it in RC.

darn, even for me, RC is a hit and miss...if there are 2 long, looks like i need to target SC in less than a minute...
