Hey guys, I got my official score in the email. I was disappointed by the VQ but thought AW was pretty good considering that English is my second language.

I am considering to apply to Business school in 2-4 years, the only reason that I take GMAT in such an early time is because I just recently graduated and started working in a flexible schedule, so I have more time to spare.

If I take the GMAT again, I might increase my score to 700 but afraid that I will not do any better with AW. And by re-take the GMAT it would give the admissions the impression that I have prepared a lot for it and that boosted my score, so they might not value the 700 as much as if I scored it on the first try.

So I donno if it will be worth it to give another shot. I have not been studying for GMAT for a month now, and if I take it again it would be in early Jan. On the other hand, I will be applying to b school in a few years, will GMAT score be as important by then or they will focus mainly on my work experiences instead?

It really all depends on where you want to go to B-school. If you want to go to a top 10 school in my opinion youre going to want to have a 700. 2-4 years is a long time before school to have taken the GMAT already...If you KNOW you want to go to a top 10 or even top 20 school then I would certainly prepare more and take it again now. If you arent sure then maybe you would be better off just waiting until it is closer to the time you will apply. That way you have a better idea of the schools you are targeting and if you need a higher score. I wouldnt worry about the AWA at all. That is an excellent score but honestly I don't think it will do much to help you. If you were to retake and get a lower AWA I can't see that hurting you at all.

Good Luck!
