Hey friends this is my first post, as I took the GMAT this morning and thought I would share an unusual experience that could be valuable for others.
I prepared for the GMAT with the official guides and a couple manhattan books. My math is quite weak in general, so that was my focus. I found the Manhattan flash cards helped a great deal. I studied on my own for 3 months. After multiple practice tests, I was expecting a 690-710. Today I arrived 40 minutes early, but found out that there had been a mix up with the registration (which I still don't think was my fault) which forced me to race across town in morning rush hour in the pouring rain from the test center that I thought I had registered with to the test center which had scheduled me, not knowing if I would even make it in time. I was late, but still was able to take the test. Thus, I feel my 650 was not too bad. I actually matched my regular Q score but went from the 40s down to 38 on the Verbal. I was bummed because on the GMATPrep practice test i took yesterday I scored a 46 on the verbal.
The moral of my little story is that in addition to preparation dont overlook non-test related details such as making sure the address on the confirmation is the same as the address which you registered for.
Thank you all, I hope that someone learns from my experience, I know I have!
This is a great forum btw, and reading it helped me prepare!
Good luck everyone!
