radical/exponent simplification-please help

I am having a difficult time simplifying the below expression. I think I am forgetting a radical or exponent rule. Any help would be appreciated.

The answer is x/3 but cant see how they arrive at it..thanks

[sqrt(a)]^2 = a

Hence using this rule: (x√2)^2 = 2*(x^2)
