Hi Nikhil,

A. what results in the act of stinging causing injury? The antecedent of 'this' is unclear (should be a specific noun or noun phrase).

B. The relationship between ideas is very awkward. The right answer must make it clear that the 2nd part is the result for which the first part is the cause. B doesn't establish cause and effect ell.

C is also awckward because it says that 'the stinger' results in 'a fact'. Actually the intended meaning is that the stinger's property (of staying where it is inserted) is the cause, not the stinger itself.

D commits a mistake similar to C.

E is correct.
