Need advice

Hello

I am 28 yrs old and have done my MBA from a local B-School in 2005, specialising in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Prior to this I have done my Mechanical Engg.

I have got 4 years of work exp. And in course of this I have covered and touched upon most of the aspects of Supply Chain and Operations.

Now I want to pursue my MBA - 1 year program so that I can move to general management, marketing and strategy. Further I want to use this skill for my own venture which I will be looking to start in another 10 yrs time.

Would it be advisable to do the same. Would my previous MBA affect my selection.
Which B- Schools should I look at, which can help me achieve this.

I will be starting to study for GMAT soon and will be looking to take the 2011 programs offered.

Dear Paresh,

If you received a MBA equivalent to a U.S. MBA, then you are not eligible to enroll in another MBA program. Schools will not award a degree to someone that already has the degree. However, you need to verify if your current degree is equivalent or not as it is possible that is equivalent to a U.S. MS degree. In the event your MBA is equivalent to a U.S. MBA, then you will need to either consider a different graduate program or focus on making a career switch.

Hi Lisa

Would this be applicable to only MBA programs in US. Or is this applicable for 1 Yr MBA programs across Europe and Asia.

Paresh,

Many schools in the EU also follow this policy. I would suggest contacting your target schools for clarification as you might find some that will allow you to enroll and others that will not.
