Verbal GMATPREP two days before 4th GMAT

by hthielenc » Wed Oct 27, 2010 11:43 am
Hello guys,

I would appreciate if anybody with substantial experience would give me some advise con Verbal. I have taken the test three times and scored basically the same 30 for Verbal, although I have improved on Quant significantly. I am taking the GMAT for a 4th time on Friday and did GMAT Prep and got 31 and 29 in the lats couple of days. I am worried, since I have in the past few weeks changed strategy and tactic on how to approach the Verbal questions. Is the GMAT Prep a couple of days before the test a good estimation of what it will be on Friday? I am hoping to get a 35 on Verbal. I would appreciate any comments on this. Thank you!

Hate to be pessimistic.. but there is a better chance that you will score lower than higher. What is your weakness? If it is SC, then you can learn some good pointers in about a day (took me a couple of days to dramatically increase my verbal SC score).

RC and CR unfortunately can't be corrected in such a short time.

Actually my SC is pretty good. I believe I have improved both RC and CR, but for some reason the Verbal section seems difficult overall.

I hear ya. I too find it difficult to score above 33 on the GMAT PREP. It sucks because once I got 10 wrong (which I don't think is too bad) but scored a 32.

I'm in the same boat as you. I just got 42/52 on the diagnostic portion on the OG and I know it isn't going to cut it. Its embarassing since there are non native speakers are getting high 30s or low 40's!
