Some queries regarding Canada.

by Kostas » Mon Jan 17, 2011 6:49 am
Let me guys introduce myself.

My name is Kostas. I was born in Toronto and have been living in Greece since 1992. I have obtained a Bachelor's degree from a Greek University and took the GMAT a week ago. Unfortunately I got a poor 510 but the good thing is that I already know where I went wrong. I prepared very well only in the quantitative and the SC parts of the test. How stupid I am though I never prepared for the Reading Comprehension passages and for sure I got 2 triples and 2 tetrads in the row mistaken in the verbal part and for sure I did a couple of CR questions wrong. So this is enough to explain how I got this mediocre score.

However, I am planning to retake the exam in a couple of months and hopefully I will be able to write a very helpful post for all those who are still striving to win this Test.

I have some queries though about some masters' degrees that I have already applied and it would be very helpful if somebody knows anything about the reputation of these degrees in the US and in Canada of course.

Here's a small list of all the European Universities that I have applied. All the programs are finance degrees.

- Cass Business School
- University of Edinburgh
- University of Amsterdam
- University of Glasgow
- University of Cardiff

Does anybody know anything about the reputation of these schools in the USA and in Canada ? Any suggestions ? I am looking forward to obtain a degree which Canada also acknowledges, in the case of returning back to work there.

I also have one more question. How would you rank the MBA programs of York, McMaster and Ryerson (all in Ontario)?
Any ideas ?

Thanks guys for your time.

If you have any ideas, please feel free to reply.

Hey,
I live in Canada, and it seems like the list would go like this:
1. Queens
2. York
3. McGill
4. UofT

and well below would be Ryerson.

Dont worry too much about the school, which ever school you get into, just do you best and good things will happen.

Thayshan's ranking pretty much sums in up in Canada.

I'm sure Canada would recognize any degrees from European countries.

A question: Kostas, at what point in the gmat exam can you decide whether to send your score to the uni's or not? At the beginning or after you see your score?

ahadi I know you posted the question to Kostas,
but you have select whether you want to submit your score or not before you see your score.
