Inequality

by heshamelaziry » Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:09 pm
If m ≠ -n, is (m - n)/(m + n) > 1?

(1) n < -2
(2) m > 1

In this problem I know I can't cross multiply, but can I subtract 1 from the left side ? the original poster said that this shouldn't be crossed multiplied but not a worrd on subtraction.

(m-n)/(m+n) - 1

-2n/(m+n)= -2n(m+n)/(m+n)^2

n(m+n) > 0

(2) insuff

Together Insuff.
