The table attached shows the various charges made by two companies for the same air conditioner. What is the total amount that can be saved on the purchase and installation of the air conditioner by dealing with the company that offers the lower total charge?
(A) $41.60
(B) $45.00
(C) $50.75
(D) $55.75
(E) $59.60

Company X:
Unit: $575
Surcharge 4%
Installation charge: $82.50

Company Y:
Unit: $530
Surcharge: 3%
Installation charge: $93.00

Questions asks for the Purchase Price and Installation only.

Company X = $575+$82.50+.04($575) = $680.50
Company Y = $530+$93.00+.03($530) = $638.90

X-Y or $680.50-$638.90 is the price difference aka amount saved by going with the cheaper company[spoiler] (Company Y) is $41.60 or A[/spoiler][/spoiler]
