This tells us nothing about x, so we can safely say it's insufficient.
2) z < x
This tells us nothing about y, so it is similarly insufficient.
When we put them together, we know that both x and y are greater than z, but we don't know anything about how x and y relate to each other. Either one could be greater than the other, or they could be equal. Insufficient.
