12. Kim has 40 percent more money than Sal and Sal has 20 percent less money than Phil. If Sal and Phil have a combined total of $1.80, how much money does Kim have?

Let x be the money Phil had

Sal = .80x

Kim = .80x + 40/100*.80x

x+.80x=1.8

x=1 (Phil)

Sal = .80 $

Kim = .80 + 40/100*.80
= . 80 * 140/100
= 1.12
