If b < 1 and 2x-b=0, which of the following must be true?

A. x > -1
B. x < -2
C. x = 2
D. x < 3
E. x > 3

The OA is D.

Please, can any expert explain this PS question for me? I have many difficulties to understand why that is the correct answer. Thanks.

2x-b = 0
2x = b.

Substituting b=2x into b < 1, we get:
2x < 1
x < 1/2.

If x=0, then B, C and E are not true.
If x=-10, then A is not true.

The correct answer is D.
