The average of 5 quantities is 6. The average of 3 of them is 8. What is the average of the remaining two numbers?

A. 6.5
B. 4
C. 3
D. 3.5
E. 4.5

The OA is C.

Average of 5 nums = 6
sum of these 5 nums = 30

average of 3 nums = 8
sum of these 3 numbs = 24

Sum of the other 2 nums = 30-24 =6
average of these 2 nums = 6/2 =3

total of 5 quantities = 5 x6 = 30
toatl of 3 quantities = 3x8 = 24
total of remaining 2 quantities = 30-24 = 6, avg. = 6/2 =[spoiler]3 Ans C
