The area is surrounded by straight lines if we substitute inequality (< or >) with = , we should get equation of these 3 lines.
The 2 lines apart from the y-axis are having negative slope because x and y have opposite effects (i.e. one increases, the other decreases)
Option that have negative co-efficient of x and positive co-efficient of y can be equation of the line. Choice 3 and 5 have negative slope by co-efficient of x, -3 and -(1/2).
Now, we are left with the third side on the y-axis, x is always 0. So, x=0 is the third side. Inequality can be any of option 1, 3 and 5 which validate option A as the correct answer.
