[size=Normal][size=0]Hi all,
A quick overview of my profile:
Female, Asian
GMAT: 750
Tofel: 110
W/E:
- 1.5 years in Bank of America Merrill Lynch, management analyst
- 1 years(up to now) in J.P.Morgan investment banking, TMT and Healthcare sectors , investment banking analyst (now as the 3rd year analyst)
Activities:
- Several firm-wide activities, such as ambassador of BoAML Young professional networks, and some other charity events, organizer of employee engagement events.
- Several global recognition awards from senior executives from BoAML.
Academics:
- Bachelor of Arts, English major
Pre-MBA w/e: 3 years expected
Post-MBA career goal: cross-border private equity investment, specialize in technology sectors (leveraging my w/e in J.P.Morgan TMT sectors)
Line of reasoning of Post-MBA career goals:
Trigger #1: My parents run a tech firm in my country, but with limited access to funding and poor skills in corporate operations and strategy, they had a hard time in running the firm when I was still a high school student.I really suffered from that experience but has no ability to help them at that time.
Trigger #2: After graduation, decided to learn both corporate operations and finance, to fulfill the role as a specialist, to help more Asian tech companies to grow bigger and avoid the dilemma which my parents once were confronted in their business.
-So I joined BAML as an management analyst, in this role, I helped my boss to carry out initiatives to streamline the whole workflow, spot and mitigate any operational risks embedded in the old system. Have done a few local and regional projects in this period.
- For the financing expertise in technology sectors, I then joined J.P.Morgan as an investment banking analyst, who covered clients in Asian and US technology firms. The w/e gives me good exposure to the tech sectors, as well as the knowledge on cross-border financing techniques.
Trigger #3: The next step to MBA school to both enrich my academic knowledge in corporate operations and financing, but also a good way to expand my networks(alumni) and seek opportunities in cross-border investments.
Target school (R2):
- Wharton
- Booth
- Harvard
- Kellogg
- Columbia
Could anyone kindly let me know your throughts on the profile evaluation? Are there anything I can improve in the profile perspective or any other aspects?
Many thanks!
