The princess entered the spectacularly arranged ballroon as a well-practiced band paid
her a musical tribute

The princess entered the spectacularly arranged ballroon after/when a well-practiced band paid
her a musical tribute.

Sentence 1 is correct as per Manhattan Can anyone help me explain what will be the difference in meaning if I replace "as" with "after/when".

Thanks in advance

Using after changes the timing of the sentence. One event after the other instead of at the same time. The use of when is a bit clunky because it also gives question to the order of events.
