One approach is to take the given information and work towards the answer in steps

GIVEN: 4 machines produce 220 candles per ONE minute
So, 4 machines produce 1100 candles per FIVE minutes (a 5 times increase in time means a 5 times increase in output)
10 machines produce 2750 candles per FIVE minutes (a 2.5 times increase in machines means a 2.5 times increase in output)

Answer: C

The rate of each machine is 220/4 = 55 candles per minute. Therefore, the number of candles 10 such machines could produce in 5 minutes is:

55 x 10 x 5 = 2,750
