Part Time MBA

by lmperri » Mon Aug 17, 2009 4:21 am
Hi Stacey,

Financially, I might only be able to go for my MBA a mix of part-time and full-time. Would there be any downfall to attending business school for the first year part-time and transferring to full-time? I want to make sure that I would be getting the most out of it no matter what and if full-time would eventually lead to more/better career opportunities than full-time would be a better investment. Any advice on the two would be very appreciated!

Thanks!

Dear Imperri,

Unfortunately, most schools will not allow you to transfer between MBA programs. There could be some out there that will allow you to do that, but most do not. The reason being that the programs are on different schedules and could even have different core course requirements. You can certainly inquire with the schools you are considering to see if that is possible, and if it is, then that might be a viable option for you.

Good luck,
Lisa
