Among the 31,000 Adventists studied, those who ate nuts more than four times a week were half as likely to die of a heart attack as those who ate nuts less than once a week.

Blacks and Latinos were nine times as likely as whites to be stopped by the police in New York City in 2009, but, once stopped, were no more likely to be arrested.

Black women, who were more likely to be obese, were seven times as likely to die in pregnancy as white women.

From these sentences we can infer that in case of as likely as we need not repeat the verb.

Black women were 7 times as likely as white women were.

But in these sentence, the verb has not been mentioned.

Experts, please comment.
