Probability

by rajatvmittal » Wed Oct 10, 2012 7:32 am
HI

Probability is no of desired outcomes / no of total outcomes.

Please guide me on how to compute the no of total outcomes?

should be factor in the arrangements i.e should we calculate by using permutation formula or by using combination formula.

Or if, depending on the prob, either of the two can be used, please guide me how to spot that difference.

Also, i understand that if you are using a particular way to compute the denominator, use the same to calculate the numerator. (method - Permutation or Combination)
I know it is a very basic question but I often get confused on this one!.

thanks
Rajtt

Hi Rajat,

Refer this link; it was suggested to me by one of the BTG experts. Its very nice esp to understand Quant in a fundamental way.
