Statement 1:
p=q
No info for "R"
INSUFFICIENT
Statement 2:
q^2 = r^2
since numbers are positive..
q=r
But, no info or "p"
INSUFFICIENT
Combining.
p=q=r
SUFFICIENT

I agree with himu, the answer is C. The key is that all three numbers are positive. If they hadn't specified that, the answer would be E.
