If pr =2(q+s) then among the equations x*x + px+ q=0 x*x+rx+s=0


A. Both have real roots


B. Both have imaginary


C. At least one has real roots


D. At least one has imaginary roots


E. None of these

I feel the material you are following is not relevant to GMAT as this question and the ones you've posted in other threads are not GMAT types. In general, GMAT does not require concepts of imaginary numbers, harmonic mean and theory of quadratic equations.

As far as this question is concerned, I believe it is incomplete. Without knowing the nature (real or imaginary) of p, q, r, and s we cannot comment on the nature of the roots.
