How can we assume that the shadows cast by trees will be in the same proportion without any information?

Technically, it's possible that the shadows cast by trees won't be in the same proportion.
The reason: The sun is a finite distance away from earth. Say, for example, we have 2 trees of equal height. If 1 tree is a little closer to the sun, it's shadow will be a TEENY bit shorter than the other tree's shadow.
Plus, I suppose there's the curvature of the earth to consider :-)

Hi prachi18oct,

This latest series of questions that you've posted seem the be dubious in their designs. Can you name the source? Is it a book? A course? There are plenty of reputable GMAT products that you can use during yours studies, so you might want to move on to another option.

Hi rich,
These questions are from 800score tests, which I am using just to practice more.
Except these, I am primarily relying on respectable sources such as Manhattan, power score, and OG.
