Can I get 500+? Please HELP!

by Rakan » Tue Aug 03, 2010 1:35 pm
Hi

I took a GMAT course on April 2010 offered by Kuwait University. So i have a good background about GMAT. However, I stop studying for 2 months. And in 15th July i opened my notes and started studying.

After studying for 2 days I began answering OG Questions.

I answered OG practice questions and i got the following results with average time for each question:

Quant:

1)PS:
90% of answers were correct (159 out of 176 questions) (average 1:50 per Question)

2)DS:
86% of answers were correct (102 out of 118 questions) (average 1:40 per question)

I am very good in math. I really love it

After I finished quant section I took the first prep test. And i got 530 (21/37 Q - 21/41 V).

I finished Quant section in 70 min with 5 min remaining!!(my mistakes were really stupid)

Then I began studying Manhattan SC and CR bible. After I finished studying them I answered SC & CR questions on OG. I know that my english is so bad.(my writing and speaking skills are poor), but I can understand most of what I am reading.

Verbal:

I got the following results in verbal section OG:

1)CR: 66% of answers were correct (82 out of 124 questions) ( average 2:30 for each question)

2)SC: 57% of answers were correct (79 out of 138 questions) (average 1:40 for each question)

3)RC: I did not take it.

My exam in 10th Aug

I want to apply to MBA program in Kuwait University(they want at least 500 in GMAT)

My question is:

Can I get 500 with my current level?
I have an excellent background on Math, but i really suffer from english.

I'm pretty sure you can easily get the 500 you want, especially since you scored a 530 on GMATprep. I have a feeling that you may be focusing on verbal for your last few days, which is definitely not a bad idea. I'd advise you to work on quant for a bit as well - consolidate your strength right before the big day and you'll add some precious points to it.
