GMAT Score:530
HI All,

I have been preparing for the GMAT for the last 1.5 months now. I started off with OG 11th edition after which I moved on to Princeton Review and then Kaplan GMAT 800. I have taken the two mock Powerprep CATS and have achieved 550 ( 40Q 20V) and the next one 520 ( 40Q , 17V)
I understand from these scores that I really need to improve on the verbal part.
My test is scheduled on 14th Nov.
I really need some words of advice as to how I need to plan my study routine.
Please, please help me out. I am planning to apply for Fall 2009.
I currenly have 3 years of work exp with a leading IT company, however I really want to beat the GMAT with a score above 650 to 700+.

Please help.

Cheers,
Priyanka

Hi Priyanka,

Could you tell what is causing you problems in Verbal .Is it pacing or ur not able to get the questions correct .Also tell which area in verbal (RC,CR or SC) is causing u problems.

Well, as of of these scores, there is no consistency in the SC/CR/RC section scores. I guess its the pacing too..
However I have one query, I have always finished the test , never fell short of time. But does the time spent on a question lead to scoring too?
Even if the answer is right?
Please help.

Cheers,
Priyanka

For SC - go through Manhattan SC and the explanations of all SC given in OG 10 and OG 11.

For CR - Powerscore CR bible will help u a lot.

For RC - Practice is the key here.

For Pacing problem try solving the SETS .They are very good practice stuff. Also take as many CAT's as possible.
