MGMAT SC guide states that in case of a subgroup modifier, 'few/some of which' constructions must have a working verb. Constructions with 'few/some of them' must not have a working verb.

In this question, doesnt the above rule apply? Can someone clarify?

i think E, b/c in C: a few of which may refer to rivers better than salmons

i think the sentence is trying to show a contrast and requires use of BUT. B/N d and E , E is better

It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up
