I just retook the GMAT (second time) and scored a 340 again. This the exact same score I had after taking the test for the first time in May. In the last 3 months I did everything one can to prepare for the test. I was studying full time. Got myself a tutor and also joined a prep class. I had put in a lot of studying before my first attempt and worked even harder the second time but there was no improvement, not even 10 points.
I was doing really well on all question types during my preparations. I was timing myself and had really gone through the basics of both math and verbal sections. I have always had a problem with standardized tests, I simply go blank when I sit in front of the computer screen. I simple cannot understand what do to. The problem is not just with math but also with the english section. Otherwise the low math score could be attributed the fact that i don't have a very quant intensive education, but i have cleared high school, so i do get math. After putting in more than 6 month of full time studying, my score has not improved at all and I don’t think more studying will make a difference. I can do the problems of the book but not when I am sitting in front of the computer. The just cannot do the standardized tests
I don’t knw what to do ? I have a masters degree and two honors degree I have a strong GPA (I think close to 3.9 in the last two years and 3.6 over all). I have won several scholarships and awards, I was also the president of the students council and have won the outstanding student award. But the GMAT has killed me completely.
Do you have any advice for me, how can I convince the school authority to give me a chance, I know I will do well in school, I am very motivated and determined.
