Take the GMAT again?

Hello,

I took the GMAT yesterday and scored a 650, and my question is whether it makes sense to take it again. I'm looking to apply to an EMBA program in one of the schools below and wanted to know what my chances really were:
- Wharton West
- Berkeley Columbia
- Kellogg

My work profile is as follows:
- Director Product Management & Business Development, 200 person Tech company in Silicon Valley - 2.5 years, present
- Senior Product Line Manager at Cisco Systems - 5+ years
- Software Engineer at Cisco Systems - 1.5 years

Dear boardevil25,

I generally think it is a good idea for folks to take the GMAT more than once unless they bust out the 730+ the first time out. It shows you are serious and if you increase your score, then you will be in a better position.

With regards to these EMBA programs, I think it is best to look at how your score measures up against the class profile. If it is at or above the average, then it might not be worth a retake. If you are below the average, then I think you should probably retake it. Regardless, you will want the rest of the application to be outstanding to give you the best shot at admission.
