On completing both the course in experimental design and the developmental psychology course, Angela will have earned a degree in psychology. Since experimental design, which must be completed before taking developmental psychology, will not be offered until next term, it will be at least two terms before Angela gets her psychology degree.

If the statements above are all true, which one of the following must also be true?
(A) The developmental psychology course Angela needs to take requires two terms to complete.
(B) The course in experimental design is an easier course than the course in developmental psychology.
(C) There are no prerequisites for the course in experimental design.
(D) Anyone who earns a degree in psychology from the university Angela attends will have completed the course in experimental design.
(E) Once Angela completes the developmental psychology course, she will have earned a degree in psychology.

E is wrong because Earning a degree in psychology requires X (experimental design) and Y (developmental psychology) to be completed.

Simply doing Y without X would not do.

Having completed "developmental psychology" does not mean that "experimental design" was completed.
May be she is still to complete "experimental design".

So by POE...D remains

But is not D very general statement. And we should always avoid generalized statements (broad statements).

In the stimulus, it says "Since experimental design, which must be completed before taking developmental psychology" Experimental design is a pre-requisite to taking developmental psychology. Therefore, if you have taken developmental psychology --> you must have taken experimental design.

D -- makes too many assumptions. Think about it -- ANYONE who earns a degree in PSYCHOLOGY...that's like saying

EX. David needed to take Econ 106F in order to graduate. Anyone who earns a degree in Economics will have completed Econ 106F. Um, no I definitely graduated with a degree in Economics and did not NEED to take Econ 106F.
