Hi

Gave my first GMATprep few min back and i am in state of shock and distress right now - got a lousy 620 (45q, 29v). I was hoping to score something like a 700 :-(

Overall Analysis-
- Qaunt (45 - 11 wrong) - found it fairly easy, made few careless mistakes, score could ahve been much higher (overall not worried). Will improve next time

- Verbal (29 - 14 wrong (7-SC), (3-CR), (4-RC)) - Got a CR boldface to begin with (can that happen?? - i thought it was easy to tough progression)and to make a perfect start (being sarcastic), it was followed by a difficult RC (4 wrong out of 5). Hence, i got all question from 2 to 6. I am hoping this was the key reason for my score downfall (please, please comment on this part)

I have given MGMAT papers in past and i have scored in the range of 33-34 in the verabl section, but below 30 (i dont get it), i though MGMAT was tougher

Few words of wisdom will be very helpful, pretaining to SC and RC

I am focusing on OG for my SC and will be giving the second test over the weekend (hoping to make a drastic improvement in Verbal)

Will keep posted - 8 Aug is very near now

Thanks
SM - will make it and wont give up

Hi

We cannot predict the question type. It might start with a difficult question too or a question that is not even rated in the exam, we never know. So I would suggest not paying too much importance to this.

IMO, MGMAT math is difficult compared the actual test but their verbal is easier. So I am not surprised with what happened to you. I would suggest you pay careful attention to identify areas you need to improve in the verbal part. OG is a must and MGMAT SC is considered good.

Wish you good luck

Thanks for the reply

I plan to focus only on verbal this week - SC and RC (trying new methods) and finding which works best for me. May be i am too close to try new things, but that is only option i have right now

Thanks,
SM
