Operation represent

The symbol ? represents one of the following operations: +,/,*,-.Which operation does ? represent.

1)(a^3/a^2)?a=1
2)a-1>0

OA is C. In my opinion it is A as there is no need for the second condition,Please Help

I believe they require the second condition, because if a is a negative number, or zero, the formula (using division as the symbol for ?) is innacurate.

C is required because you can have:

0.5+0.5
or 1*1
or anything other than 0/anything other than 0

so by restricting a>1 you can narrow to the 3rd option
