Which guides should I use?

by Josh85 » Sat Jul 25, 2009 10:02 am
I used Kaplan's prep course for the LSAT and I didn't think it was good at all. I was wondering what prep book I should use? I've heard amazing things about Powerscore but I just haven't heard a lot about it for the GMAT.

I'm nervous to use Kaplan again and I'm nervous to use Princeton review as well because I heard it's similar to Kaplan. I'm very confused and I have no idea what book to order. I'm looking to score pretty high, what is the average time of study?

If some students of the GMAT could help me with a decision that'd be great.

I already have the 12th Edition Review Study guide. What else should I get?

You're right about Kaplan. MGMAT and OG12 should be more than enough to get you to 600+.

Have you taken the LSAT yet? What other prep material did you use for it and which one did you find to be the most useful?

Which MGMAT book? Can you link it?

I've taken the LSAT twice and took the course twice (under the better score guarantee) and did pretty poorly. I don't want to use Kaplan and thats really all I used. But I hear Princeton review is similar to it.

Also, I was wondering if anyone had a good study schedule for someone who works 4 days a week 8-5?

Well I didn't actually use any of their books. I just bought an online access code that gives access to 6 sample tests and took the tests. The results came the closest to the actual exam and the analysis tools were very useful.

Does Kaplan guarantee a certain score?

Not really. But I'm still unsure which books to use.
