Found throughout Central and South America, sloths hang from trees by long rubbery limbs and sleep 15 hours a day, moving infrequently enough that two species of algae grow on its coat and between its toes.
d. the sloth hangs from trees by its long rubbery limbs, sleeping 15 hours a day and moving so infrequently
e the sloth hangs from trees by its long rubbery limbs, sleeps 15 hours a day, and it moves infrequently enough
I only listed D and E because A, B, and C were obviously wrong due to subject/verb agreement. But I am confused as to why D is correct. It reads as if it is trying to say that while the sloth hangs from trees by its long rubbery limbs, it is sleeping and moving infrequently. is that right? i suppose that it could be correct.
I was looking for the answer that read "sleeps 15 hours a day, and moves infrequently enough"
E was closest to the parallelism so i chose that, but i understand the addition of "it" makes it not parallel after reviewing.
This was a really tough quesiton for me. I get it worng everytime, but is there anything else wrong with E? or what's so right about D? the sloth hangs...and verb+ing. why does it work in this case?
