Nice Question

In an office that employees 120 people, m% of the employees are male, and c% of the employees are members of the custodial staff. How many employees are females who are not members of the custodial staff?

1) m + c = 50

2) The number of female employees who are members of the custodial staff is four

Shouldn't the answer be "A"? since both m and c percentages of the employees ...

my answer E we have no clue what C% is and cannot work backwards.

hmhm with A we can find the number of employees who are members of the custoddial staff is 60 and who arnt members of the custofial staff is 60, and we also know the percentage of males and females ( m% and C%) in the group of custofial staff but we know nothing about the percentage of employees who arnt from custodial staff
so A cant be the answer

Let

m1 - male not custodial %
m2- male custodial %
f1-female not custodial %
f2-female custodial %

m1 + m2 + f1 + f2=100----1
m=m1 + m2
c=m2 + f2

from the first statement
m1 + m2 + m2+ f2=50---2

Subtracting the two equations we get f1-m2=50

we cannot find f1 with the given info.

from the second statement
f2=4/120=3.33
We cannot find the f1 with the given info

Combining both info
We still cannot find f1 with the both statements.

IMO B
The question says m% and c% are known... (Some value m and c)
With the additional knowledge that Female custodians are 4, we can
always find all other values...
