Hi,

In this question we are given
x is not equal to -y.
From 1 we have x>0, we dont have any info abt y so insuff.
From 2 we have y<0, we dont have any info about x so insuff.
Ans can only be C or E.
So, combining both we get
x>0 and y<0
lets plug values

x=2, y=-1
we get (2-(-1))/(2+(-1)) = 3 hence yes
x=2, y=-3
we get 2-(-3)/2+(-3) = -5 no.
hence insuff
