analysis of argument.

by Beat-D-GMAT » Sun Aug 30, 2009 9:47 am
This author conclusion is highly optimistic prediction about ethics regulations and stronger enforcement mechanism.
Author is also very much opitimistic about success with his department's code of ethics. The reason for this optimization is because code of ethics was revised
last year and all companies who are working with his department are agreed with this code. To raech this conclusiotn author has assuemd so many things and evidence produced
here lead to conclusion. Moreover, so many of those aasumptions are arguable that this argument does not seem very persuasive.

The author assumes that all companies who are working with his department will folow code of conduct inspite of the fact that in past there were voilations
of his code. It also put up questions how this will be ensured that companies will not do the same this time. Also it is not clear from argument what kind of modifications were
made in code of ethics. Author has also not discussed about how this code will be enforced on all companies. We can not asssume that by updating any rule or even adopting
new code of ethics will ensue that companies will follow it. Untill there are strong enforcement mechanism most likely violations of code of ethics can not be stopped.

The author also assumes that code which was revised last year is sufficient. As in fast growing and changing world only change is constant rest all will change.
If something which was changed last year does not mean that it does not require any changes in year. It is not clear what kind of business comnpany is doing for example when
finacial crisis hit, many things have changed so many updates are required in various rules of almost all industry.

Author's conclusion is based on various assumption and he is very much optimist about it. However not to mention that we are not living in ideal world.
However more explaination on what measure has been taken, what kind of enforcement mechanism is there and what actions will be taken if somebody violates code
is required.
