Read alot I guess...no real shortcut to this. I usually find that on alot of issue questions, I have at least read something, somewhere on that topic. Obviously it helps to include real life examples, but your experience may not always be applicable.

A lot of students I've talked to have sworn that reading business publications in the weeks before the test was helpful, if you don't already do that. I think the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, and the Financial Times are all good choices. This has the added benefit of helping your reading speed and comprehension. In addition, brainstorming some examples from history that could be used to support many different points could be helpful. That way, you could go into the test with a short-list of examples that you would then bend to suit your essay. For instance, you might choose a war, a financial crash, a major business innovation, etc., and go into the test knowing enough about each of them that you could use them to support many different ideas.

I found something that reminded me of this thread. Apparently the GMAC publishes a list of all of the essay topics that are currently on the test.

So, if you have time before your test, run through those lists and brush up on topics that you don't know.
