Of all the manifestations of power, restraint in the use of that power impresses people most.
My reply:
Manifestations of power are the ways how one who has the power uses it. So the use of the power depends on many factors such as for personal development, regional development, and national development. However after consideration of options, I think use of the power for the well being of society is best usage of the power.
The chief reason for my belief is younger generation do get influenced by how people, who have power, uses it. And the younger generation is the basic building blocks on which any nation's strength rely upon. For instance take the example of former president of India APJ Abdul Kalam. When he was president, he had all the power to take the decisions. However he utilized the power for the well being of the nation and that has made him one of the ideal presidents of India and his decisions has much influenced younger generation leading him to idol of many .As the actions taken by the people who have the power are imitated by members of society so use of the power for the self being is not respected in the society. Had Abdul Kalam misused his power, he would not have become the ideal for many.
Use of power for well being of the society of one nation could lead to harm for another society. However, in the long run, use of power for well being of the humans could lead to satisfaction of all. A classic example of this is the use of power by Hitler. Hitler used his power for conquering the world. During the world war, many innocent people died because of his wish to conquer the world. And it overall affected the world in many perspectives.
Thirdly, Use of the power affects the world and many generations. Example of this is nuclear attack by US on Nagasaki and Hiroshima that has affected many generations of that city and destroyed the whole city. Had the power authority not taken the decision of nuclear attack there would not been such a loss of human lives and resources.
In sum, I think among all the manifestations of power, use of power for the well being of the society impresses the people most. After considering all above mentioned facts power need to be utilized for developing the society and nation.
