Of all the manifestations of power, restraint in the use of that power impresses people most."
Explain what you think this quotation means and discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with it. Develop your position with reasons and/or specific examples drawn from history, current events, or your own experience, observations or reading.
From the above mentioned quotation, the key theme depicted is, even if one has got enough power to conquer the whole Universe, the controlled and balanced use of it would amaze most of the people. Truly agreeing with it I would like to state my point of view.
Mostly the people of authority tend to misuse their power. The most effective example in this aspect is given as; the administrative people have got the power to sanction the loan or the issue the pension or sanctioning the provident fund balance. Most of the cases the innocent pension holder, the person who are in need for loan have to wait for ages to get their jobs done , which is not at all acceptable. The people with power take the advantage of their position and heckle these people as due to these activities their personal, professional and social life gets shattered.
In some cases we have seen, the offspring of the effluent people get easy admission in the academic institutes without having required grade for the course. As a result of that the normal students with ordinary background and with good academic record do not get the privilege to pursue the desired course from their aimed academic institutes, which is again by no means tolerable. Due to this kind of partial treatment the society does not get the good brains which it requires immensely.
Again we can gaze our concentration on the politicians, the people from the entertainment industry, or the people from the high socio-cultural back ground. There are cases where the family members of these people get rescued after performing any kind of immoral act; it can be sometimes illegal activities. They are every time spared from all the hassles of court and primly in the case of judgment. In this way the ordinary people lose their respect on our judiciary system and a social and moral discouragement and grudge gets shaped in the very basic level of humankind.
The power should be given to those who can properly disperse it to their subordinates. There should a uniform harmony and balance to these particular people's mental level. A person with true mental balance and neutral attitude to their work should be the person with power. When a person is asking for his desired right, then, it should be fulfilled with total attention by the authorities; otherwise people will eventually lose faith in the administrative system. In the next example, we can conclude that every brain should get its proper position. If a student has no intellect for technology then he should not occupy that particular place in a good institute just because he has got the power so that it should be provided to the best deserving candidate. On a different note, but a genuine issue, law should be for all not only for the ordinary people. We are in a democratic, independent country, so we deserve a law which is equal for all and truly impartial.
