Answer: A

Solution:

We can use the formula:

Total = Option 1 + Option 2 - Both + Neither

Since each student is going to either beach (option 1) or mountains (option 2), “Neither” = 0. So, we have:

2,000 = 1,500 + 700 - Both

2,000 = 2,200 - Both

Both = 200

Answer: A
