Why is A wrong ? I didnt find anything wrong with it ?

Because: Well Known
As a result: Known from a cause(experiment,experience)

C completes the statement! more precise.

First half of the sentence(before the comma) is a dependent clause.. so a subject is needed in the dependent clause. 'They' is a subject as given in option C.
