In the field of higher education, the first few months of the year are often very busy, because new students are eager to fulfill long-held dreams as the new year begins.

A)new students are eager to fulfill long-held dreams
B)new students are eager as to fulfill long-held dreams
C)new students with eagerness to fulfill long-held dreams
D)new students, eager to fulfill, long-held dreams
E)long held dreams are eager and fulfilled by new students

OAA why not B

Hello j_shreyans,

The Idiom 'as X as Y' is not applicable in this sentence, hence option B is wrong. In fact it will be unidiomatic to use 'as' as given in option B in the given construction.

One is always eager to do something , not eager as to do something...

Eager + to looks perfect

Only PARALLEL FORMS can be compared.
B: as to fulfill...as the new year...
Here, to fulfill (infinitive) and the new year (noun) are not parallel forms.
Eliminate B.
