Hi Everyone,
I am an IT graduate and planning for GMAT, but i am the only earning member in my family and only support of my family, they want me to continue my job but i want MBA. What to do?[/quote]

I empathize with your situation, but only you can decide what is right for you. It is important your family support your decision to get a MBA as it is a large investment, in terms of both time and money. You should really talk to your family and find the best solution together.

I faced the exact same situation. Two kids under two and my wife is planning to take a leave of absence once her maternity benefits expire. Leaving my well paying job wasn't an option. My choice was to look at Executive MBA and part time programs which allow you to work and earn your MBA.

In the end I applied (and was accepted) into the Cornell-Queen's eMBA program. You earn an MBA from Cornell (Ivy League ranked between 9th and 14th depending on the survey) and an MBA from Queen's University in Canada (Ranked #1 outside of the US, again depending on the survey). Plus it's offered in several cities in the US and Canada via teleconferencing. Classes are 3 Saturdays a month for 17 months with 7 residential weeks in Ithaca (Cornell) or Kingston (Queen's).

Wharton also has an eMBA program available in Philadelphia and California.

Have confidence in yourself

Do one thing have a clear discussion with your family, just talk about merits and demerits of it. Take help of a family friend i m sure that after a clear discussion with your near and dear ones you will reach to a exact answer.
