I've been doing research all night to craft my story and I don't know the difference between Brand Management and Strategic Marketing. I have 3 years experience as an advertising strategist for a top firm for clients like Bank of America, Gillette, Mountain Dew, and prior I was an electrical engineer for 2 years.
I understand that Brand Management is a CPG term, so I guess I'd own the product like I was running my own business. But where does a Strategic Marketer fit in? Is that the CMO? Is that a term only used for consultants? What about if I worked in an internet company, like Google, or Gilt. Would I be a brand manager? Or Strategic Marketer?
I'm so confused. If anyone with experience could shed some light on the different post-mba marketing roles I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
